In a scandalous proceeding, two teenage girls were allegedly abducted by two unidentified men on November 15 from a marriage venue at Moirang Hemam Leikai under the jurisdiction of Moirang Police station.
As per the family report, the two girls supposedly abducted are Haobijam Glory (13 years), daughter of Haobijam Gyaneshwar of Keirenphabi Mayai Leikai, and the other one is Tongbram Yaiphabi (11years), daughter of Tongbram Opendro of Keirenphabi Mamang Leikai.
Reliable sources said that the girls came to Moirang Hemam Leikai to attend the marriage ceremony of their cousin sister to be solemnized on 17th November 2021. But as the bride and her brother were blowing balloons to celebrate the former’s birthday which falls on 16th November, a day before her marriage. The two girls were in the other room at this time. Mr. Opendro, father of Yaiphabi, (in the hope to help the girls spend their time) also offered his handset to them but they refused to accept.
Meanwhile, at the excitement of the birthday celebration and marriage ceremony a day later, no one paid attention to the girls nor did they know where the girls were and what were they doing amidst the pandemonium existing at the residence. Later the family came to know that the girls went out of the marriage venue and have been kidnapped by two unidentified men coming on an 'Activa'.
The family also enquired at the hostel where they stay at present for their study but they were informed that the girls have not returned yet to the hostel. Later an FIR for the missing case was registered at Moirang Police Station. Police teams have been deployed to search for the missing girls and the alleged abductors.
